Mirrors and Windows Diversity Initiative
The Children's Alliance of the Northern California Independent Booksellers' Association has chosen ONE WORD FROM SOPHIA for a hand selling competition with the New England Indie Booksellers.  The goal is to prove to publishers that they CAN sell books featuring "diverse" characters by tracking the sales of chosen titles. The initiative runs from October 1 to December 31. As the author I am supporting the campaign in these ways:

FREE SKYPE VISITS FOR CLASSROOMS
Teachers, librarians, and school administrators who purchase a class set (15 or more books) from one of the stores below during the initiative will receive a free 15-minute SKYPE visit from me (up to 50 visits total. I will update here if limit reached.)  Simply email me a copy of the receipt (via the contact link at top of page) and we will set a date in the spring for the visit.
